The GOLFWEEK Amateur Tour

The Michigan GOLFWEEK Amateur Tour is preparing for its 8th season of competitive golf. We continue to promote golf and grow the tour. The Michigan tour is consistently awarded trophies for being one of the top performing tours. We are part of the nationally organized GOLFWEEK Amateur Tour headquartered in North Carolina, the MIAGT provides golfer's of all abilities a chance to compete in real golf tournaments at some of the best courses in Michigan. The MIAGT tournaments are setup to be challenging but fair tests of golfers' abilities. We offer prize payouts and trophies for the first three places in each flight. All players are awarded points for each tournament they compete in. The top ten point's earners from each flight are eligible to play in the National Tour Championship held in Hilton Head SC. Last years National Championship had over 550 amateur golfers competing for first place in their respective flights. Tournaments are played according to USGA rules. Our season starts April 11th, and continues almost every other weekend until September 18th which is the State Tour Cup Championship, the last of our four majors. Tour members may play in as many tournaments as they like there is no maximum and no minimum. We play golf rain or shine.

2011 Announcements! The Season has begun With fields totaling 141 players the East and West tours started the 2011 season. Impending rough weather could not keep the tough Michigan Amateur Tour Golfers from competing for the first trophy of the season. The weather was tough but as usual there were players that rose to the occasion and posted some great scores!! Congratulations to all competitors and we will see yo at the next event. ------ We pay your entry fee to play in Hilton Head! Players will be awarded 50% of their entry fee to the National GolfWeek Championships in Hilton Head for each half of the season the win. Win both halfs of the season and your entry fee will be covered 100%. _----- Major Tournaments are now 2 day events Our 6 majors tournaments will be 2 day 36 hole (18 holes per day) events to add a new level of excitement and competition. ------ Visa or MasterCard Gift Cards for prize payouts We always make the prize payouts as high as possible for every event. Now these prizes will be easier to redeem! These payouts will of course conform to USGA rules relating to Amateur Status. ------ The MichIllini Cup Played Oct 2011 The Michigan GOLFWEEK Tour is taking on the Chicago GOLFWEEK Tour in a Ryder Cup Style match which features 27 holes of team play. Be a part of the fun and comraderie while representing your tour in a very exciting format. This match is now an annual event and we will try to make it bigger every year. The team trophy will be held for the year by the team that wins. Email the tour director if you want to be a part of the team!!
